Yugyeom is known as the maknae and the dancing machine of GOT7. Despite debuting at a very young age, he did not back down but continuously grew as an artist and a brother who is well-loved by his six brothers. As described by the members of GOT7, Yugyeom is a person who is pure and very kind (although he insists he’s not). He was born on November 17, 1997, the same age as BamBam. Even though he is the maknae, he is the tallest member of the group. He first debuted under GOT7 and in 2019, he debuted with JB as Jus2, a sub-unit that kick-started their discography with their self-produced album “FOCUS”. As popularly known among fans, Yugyeom has been participating in making choreographies and has produced notable songs for the group. He characterizes the colors yellow and black, his favorite colors, in the sense that he embodies two different personalities—on stage, and off the stage.

Aside from his amazing dancing skills, he has also been actively participating in producing songs for GOT7 and his personal SoundCloud. The tracks he made were well-received by many people due to their catchy beats and groovy rhythm. He once went live without interacting with fans that got everyone confused. In that live session, he was purposely showing how he creates music. It’s amazing how he came up with simple beats to a whole song that got listeners swooning. In 2019, he and JB debuted as Jus2 with their mini-album “Focus” in which he was heavily involved in producing. He was credited for making the title track, “Focus On Me”, “Love Talk”, “Sigh”, and everyone’s favorite—”Long Black.” His musical growth is very evident over the years. He did not remain stagnant in a certain style. Instead, he explored other sounds which can be heard from the differences between “1°”, “Crash & Burn”, “Poison”, and “Thank You, Sorry.” Since 2017, Yugyeom has shared various solo tracks on SoundCloud starting with “The way you are.” He has been randomly dropping tracks every year and as of January 2021, he has released a total of 11 tracks.

At the age of 18, Yugyeom showed his superb dance moves in Mnet's Hit the Stage wherein he snatched the grand prize. This show teams up K-pop idols with professional dance crews and they compete for certain themes throughout the whole show. Even though Yugyeom only joined at the last 2 episodes, his dance routine along with the dance crew that he collaborated with boasts their high-level skills and creativity. Their concepts are not limited to the stage only but, they have used different elements such as lighting and illusion. In the final episode, Yugyeom’s team won by a 2-point difference from their final opponent and was announced as the winner of the show.
