“Always be hungry in what you wanna do, take risks, work hard, and have no regrets,” these words vibrate Jackson’s character. Jackson Wang speaks with multi-hyphenate energy from his rise from fencing in Hong Kong to becoming a K-pop rapper, international brands’ ambassador, and now a global sensation. He isn’t used to staying still, which can be reflected in how he left his blossoming fencing career and later chose his passion for music. As his own trajectory, Jackson has certainly always followed his own advice. Swapping his sword for a mic was his biggest gamble, but was also the greatest force that has put him to where he is right now. In an interview for L’Officiel Jackson expressed: “[The two] were definitely different. I thought I might fail, I might succeed, but at least I’m trying. But I think they both have the same philosophy and vision, and through every chapter of my life I’ve discovered even more about myself.” Jackson expresses the importance of life as we only have it once. He encourages fans to dig deeper, to know their individual identity and to trust one’s pace and definition of success.
WOLO

Jackson thrives like a papillon throughout his career. He debuted as a rapper with his powerful martial arts tricking. He appeared in various variety shows and expressed himself as a person full of bright energy. But despite all this, Jackson was left in question if this is what he really wanted. Leaving Hong Kong and his family at a young age, his dream was to be a musician/artist and not a mere funny guy. In 2017, when it was announced that Jackson would no longer participate in Japanese promotions, he simultaneously started his solo career under his own label called Team Wang which he established with three of his friends. His solo career blossomed with song collaborations with Gucci Mane, Galantis, Stephanie Poetri, 88rising, and JJ Lin to name a few. Became ambassadors as well for Armani, Fendi, Addidas, Cartier, L’Oriel Men, and many more. Jackson compares GOT7 to Skittles saying: “In GOT7 you have seven people. It’s like Skittles. You get all the flavors, you get what I mean?” With Jackson as a soloist, however, it’s only him. “Let’s say you get my flavor exclusively.” Jackson made it possible for us to dream, to never be afraid of risks, and to continue moving forward. With all his gambles, risk taken, and decisions bravely made, we are continuously inspired to follow our selves just like what he did.
MADE IT.

When asked in an interview on how he separates his launchpads between Chinese and Korean pop industries he simply answers: “Why would you want to differentiate? At the end of the day, there are no boundaries, you know?... It doesn’t matter if an artist works in Korea or in China, whatever the artist makes, he or she is still an artist. There’s no difference.” This kind of introspection has forced Jackson’s creative history-making into a peculiar focus, creating his music and at the same time bridging western and Chinese cultures at once. With his solo album, “Mirrors,” Jackson became the first Chinese solo artist to reach the Mediabase Top 40 radio chart. With all his whirlwind schedules with China and South Korea, he launched his clothing line with Team Wang Designs. A tireless move that catapults him into the same elite space that hip-hop’s eminent multi-hyphenates occupy. He says, “I always have the vision of trying to beat the previous me every time—with every release.” With every move, he continues to make history for himself, something that every Ahgases and Jackys look forwards to.
