Jaebeom is a man of dedication. The amount of effort he puts into his career and in his personal development is just admirable. He works hard in every way possible: leading the members, being a listener and an adviser, a main vocal and a center, a composer and a producer, and overall, an idol of one of the most well known Korean boy groups in South Korea which is definitely not easy, but he somehow still manages to complete everything successfully with a burning passion and a desire to always do better. He is one of the most genuine idols out there who truly loves and enjoys everything about his job. Words aren’t even enough to describe how amazing of a person he is.
Defining JB
GOT7’s leader JB, who goes by the name Defsoul/Def. produces his own solo work for free on SoundCloud, writes and composes tracks for his group as well as sub-units Jus2 and JJ Project. His first song for the group was “Bad Behavior”, followed by the rap for “Mine”, before taking his moniker of Defsoul with the production of “Everyday” from Mad repackaged album. The release of Flight Log marked a turning point in his songwriting career, as he began to produce and write for a significant number of releases on each album. JB’s style of music began to form at this time, now fully solidified in his solo work under Defsoul. In December 2016, he released his first self-made mixtape 1/? vol.1 on SoundCloud as Def. Then in 2017 he officially became part of the music crew PARADISE (OFFSHORE) and began releasing his solo music by 2018. With GOT7 members being given more creative control over their music, JB’s career as a talented composer and songwriter has taken off. There’s no doubt he’s one of the most talented idols out there.

As Def., he held his first photo exhibition titled "Alone" last October 6-12 2020 in Seoul. The photos that he took were actually when he was feeling lonely and so he tried to incorporate sadness and loneliness in his overall theme. "Being lonely isn't necessarily just being alone. They're photos I took feeling lonely but through a happy lens, so I think there would be a variety of photos," he said. He's curious about the feeling the fans will get when they look at his exhibition. He hoped that the fans will forget their hardships for a bit as he opened his exhibit. He aimed to bring inspiration and consolation through his art which I think he successfully did.
