Jinyoung first debuted along with JB for JJ Project as a rapper and later on with GOT7 as one of its vocalists. Aside from his prince-like looks and wave-like voice, he also composes and helps in making choreographies for the team. In 2017, Jinyoung shared his feelings towards writing a solo song for Tomorrow, Today EP. “My voice is kind of average, not a powerful one, so this time rather than my favorite genre I found the best fitting my voice.” When he finds himself lacking, he continuously trains, experiences different styles of music, and opens himself to criticism for him to develop and be better. He had entered the industry as a dancer yet he grew and found more about himself. Jinyoung is also an actor that is highly regarded in the industry. Recently, he bagged two awards as an actor from Asia Artist Award that was held last November 28, 2020.
I am ME
When it comes to music, Jinyoung doesn't settle for less. As a GOT7 member, he started participating in producing "To.Star," an emotional song from Mad album repackage last 2015. His songs consistently appear in every GOT7 album since then. Rather than having fast-paced songs as he had begun with as a member of JJ Project, Jinyoung's style is rather flowy and melodic. In 2017, JJ Project came back after 5 years with Verse #2, showcasing the duo's growth in their music sense. The album consists of tracks where both Jinyoung and JB had been heavily involved. Verse #2 also included "The Day", a solo track composed and sung Jinyoung. He has always made songs like that of waves however, he doesn't stay in that lane. He went 360 degrees as he collaborated with BamBam for "King" during their unit stage for Eyes On You world tour in 2018.

Hey, guys.
Hear, here.
Jinyoung's visuals is too good to not be published into a photobook. In 2019, he released "Hey, Guys" featuring the sceneries in Jeju Island. A year later, another photobook was published entitled, "Hear, Here" which showcased the urbanscapes of Taipei. He also had an online fanmeeting where he performed songs that he wrote.
